Our Philosophy on Business Continuity Management

Business Continuity Management that focuses on people first

Why spend money on something that doesn't work?

Traditional business continuity management (BCM) follows a formula that goes something like this: perform a Risk Assessment, perform a Business Impact Analysis, build Business Continuity Plans, exercise, rinse, repeat.

But there are problems with this formula. Plans are worthless if employees don't know how to use them, and often, the person who wrote the plan is the only one who knows it. Checklists do little to prepare leaders for making good decisions in an incident who have never thought through the possibilities with their team. Sometimes months are spent in analyses that provide little information beyond what could have been obtained from senior management in a brief meeting.

After years of assisting clients with these challenges at other business continuity firms, we decided to change the process that we saw continually failing. Joining forces, we formed Lootok to revitalize the practice through an engaging, activity-based approach to business continuity. With the skills, tools, and processes developed through Lootok's collaborative, interactive sessions, companies develop strategies that employees can actually use, and train leadership to practice the skills needed to make good decisions in an incident.

Why is this so important? Because a plan itself is not enough to protect your business. When disaster strikes, it's people with the skills, passion and training to respond to threats who will keep your business in motion. At Lootok, that's what we believe, and that's what we're here to help you build.
