Business Continuity E-Learning: BCM University

E-learning systems are an efficient and increasingly popular way for large organizations to educate and monitor progress of their employees. Lootok can work with your existing internal e-learning system to develop business continuity training courses, or if your company does not use an internal system, can host an e-learning course through a third party partner.

While in-person, on-site training is the most effective way to learn, we bring elements of our interactive, in-person training to our e-learning courses to keep the learner engaged. We use videos, stories, games, and surprising facts to make the training course interesting and effective, while ensuring the learner retains as much information as possible.

The BCM University can be scaled to attendees' roles; for instance, a member of the crisis management team may take particular courses, some of which overlap with a business continuity coordinator, allowing for efficient yet specific training for each participating role. Examples of e-learning topics include:

  1. What is business continuity, and why are we doing it?
  2. How to complete the business impact analysis or business continuity plan
  3. What is risk, and how does our perception impact our response?
  4. How do the different elements of the risk and continuity world — emergency response, crisis communications, risk management, disaster recovery, business continuity, etc. — fit together?
  5. How does crisis stress affect our ability to make decisions?
  6. Tips for communicating before and during a crisis
  7. Understanding leadership and communication styles and how they may play out in a crisis
  8. Common "pitfalls" in business continuity plans
  9. Common "pitfalls" in incident management
  10. How to ensure you have a quality plan
  11. What do you do when a crisis happens?
